This is very useful when the phone is shows slower than normal performance, you can also soft reeset your phone when a software app is not running properly. when soft reset is performed all unsaved work is permanently lost.

Here are easy and simple steps to SOFT RESET your HTC HD Phone.

  1. Hold your phone firmly, while the front screen is facing down.
  2. Open with your thumb or finger the back cover, by lifting upwards from the left side of the cover, ( there is a lock button which keeps cover attached to phone, you can detach the cover from there.
  3. The RESET button is at the left side bottom below the battery  and SIM card slot. Use any small object that has an unsharp and pointed tip to press the RESET button.
    Now Your phone restarts and Home screen is displayed.
  4. Replace the back cover, fix the right side of the back cover first. Then press down the cover into place. The cover is locks itself on the body.

Please Note: This update is only for ROM version which is equal to 1.60.XXX.X, or lower.

Follow these instructions below to download and update your phone:

  1. Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync® installed on your Windows PC or Windows Mobile Device Center. Microsoft ActiveSync can be downloaded from this link  and Windows Mobile Device Center can be downloaded from this link.
  2. Now Connect the phone with Computer and synchronize your device via Microsoft ActiveSync® or Windows Mobile Device Center with the phone USB cable.
  3. Download the SOFTWARE UPDATE from Official Site. Click Here 
  4. Finally copy the update file, which is an .exe format to your HTC phone. Touch Click it and installation starts.

Please Note: If you are performing a device hard reset, you will be needing to reinstall this update after doing the hard reset.
